This is a song we are preparing for the second volume. It is a protest song that Dylan wrote in 1962. He was with friends in a cafe and it is said that he wrote this in 10 minutes. The melody is inspired from the old slave song "no more Auction Block". This song became one of the most popular anti-war songs during the 60s and the Vietnam War. During the Iraq War protests, some commentators noted that the protestors were still resurrecting songs like Blowin 'in the Wind. It is because the song is posing philosophical questions about peace, war and freedom. It does not refer specifically to any particular event, which has kept its popularity enduring. Bosba liked the melody without capturing the depth of the song until her father explained the lyrics to her. Bosbapanh then asked her father : why we still don't have answers to these questions ?
How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man? Yes,…..'n' how many seas must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand? Yes,…...'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly before they're forever banned?
the answer, my friend, is blow-in in the wind
How many times must a man look up before he can see the sky? Yes,…...'n' how many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry? Yes,…...'n' how many deaths will it take till the knows that too many people have died?
the answer, my friend, is blow-in in the wind
How many years can a mountain exist before it's washed to the sea? Yes,…...'n' how many years can some people exist before they're allowed to be free? Yes,…...'n' how many times can a man turn his head pretending he just doesn't see?
the answer, my friend, is blow-in in the wind...the answer is blow-in in the wind.
